The purpose of this right-based and equity focused Situation Analysis is to provide an objective and verifiable analysis of the situation of children and women rights in Armenia, which can guide and may be used by all partners in addressing key issues and challenges which affect the full exercise of rights of children, girls and boys alike and women especially the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Description of actual services provided by your staff within the assignment:
The specific objective of the assignment aims to:
- Improve the understanding of the current status of children and women rights realization in Armenia and the causes of shortfalls and inequities, as the bases for recommending actions;
- Support national and decentralized planning and development processes including influencing policies, strategies, budgets and national laws to contribute towards an enabling environment for children, girls and boys alike and women;
- Strengthen national and sub-national capacities to monitor the situation of children and women, principally regarding vulnerable and disadvantaged groups and how their specific rights are being met
- Contribute to national research on disadvantaged children and leverage UNICEF Armenia’s convening power to foster and support knowledge generation with development, civil society and private sector stakeholders;
- Strengthen the knowledge base to enable assessment of the contribution of development partners, including UNICEF and the UN in Armenia, in support of national development goals;
Offer programmatic recommendations to address geographical gender, age, disability, poverty and other disparities and accelerate progress towards the SDGs, and fulfillment of human rights conventions, with an emphasis on CRC, children’s health and wellbeing, and reducing vulnerability to hazards.
